Sudden death in summer and early fall with few overt symptoms are an indication of Black disease. The animal simply appears to fall asleep and die. A sudden noise may make them start violently with twitching of the eyes and ears.Treatment

In certain geographical areas, liver flukes are fairly common in goats. Therefore, they should be wormed with a product that is effective against flukes, such as Valbazen® in addition to receiving routine vaccinations against Cl. Novyi.
