Clostridium perfringens C/D

This is a disease which generally affects the larger and stronger kids which may be consuming fairly large amounts of feed. There will be significant abdominal pain and depression, frequently with bloody diarrhea. Victims tend to die rather quickly, will probably have undigested milk in the stomach. This is not real common in goats.

Treatment

This is of little value. You can try antitoxin. Prevention is the best treatment and can be accomplished by vaccinating the doe about three weeks before delivery (see Routines and Vaccinations on main page.)
